CityPlace is a large stretch of former railway land between Bathurst and Rees St south of Front Street. The area is known for its numerous Toronto condos along the lakeshore, which comprise one of the city’s largest planned communities. This neighbourhood has grown a lot over the past few years, with new condos going up all the time. Designed to maximize green space, CityPlace features plenty of parkland for recreational use, as well as indoor recreation facilities.
Situated between the Gardiner Expressway and Front St, there is an amazing amount of green space in CityPlace. There are lots of parks such as Canoe Landing, at 20 acres with 2 multi-purpose sports fields, loads of walking trails and even some amazing large scale art instillations designed by Douglas Coupland, it has something for everyone. The new condo developments in CityPlace have brought with them restaurants, grocery stores and other businesses, like dental offices, that previously weren’t available to those that lived south of Front St. The Rogers Centre and CN Tower are close at hand as are the walking trails, boardwalk and beaches along The Waterfront. The King West Entertainment District is just to the north, with fantastic restaurants, live theatre and some great shopping too.
Living in a CityPlace condo gives you tremendous opportunity to get anywhere in the city you’d like. The Spadina on ramp to the Gardiner Expressway is right in the middle of this downtown neighbourhood, making an escape to the East End or West End of the city a breeze. Alternately the 510 Spadina and the 511 Bathurst streetcars also go right through CityPlace, heading north the Bloor-Danforth Subway or over to Union Station and The Ex.
