Spanning north of Eglinton Avenue West around Bathurst Street, Forest Hill North features the same desirable amenities of the wider Forest Hill area with higher density housing and more affordable prices. It is a largely residential neighborhood with commercial strips found on the main thoroughfares like Eglinton and Spadina Road, but otherwise, you’ll find mostly broad, tree-lined streets with a variety of natural and manicured landscapes. There are only a few Toronto condos in the area presently, but it is an attractive spot for developers both for its prestige and its access to urban transit.
Eglinton Avenue West between Marlee and Latimer is the main commercial pulse of the neighbourhood, offering shoppers many options from high-end retail outlets and delicious dining to more common staples like Subway and Rexall Drugstore. There are a lot of great green spaces to explore including Memorial Park and the Kay Gardner Beltline Trail that leads from Eglinton to Yonge Street. Home to Forest Hill Collegiate Institute, the Forest Hill area also hosts the private schools Upper Canada College and The Bishop Strachan School.
Easy access to Allan Road, Bathurst Avenue, and Eglinton West subway station make the area very attractive to city dwellers and commuters. It’s an ideal spot if you want to work downtown but live a little outside the hustle and bustle.
There are a lot of great restaurants. If you can't start your day without caffeine fear not, your nearby choices include Starbucks. Groceries can be found at Parkway Fine Foods which is only a 4 minute walk and you'll find Dr S Jeginovic a 3-minute walk as well. Interested in the arts? Look no further than Petroff Gallery and Stavros Digital Art. If you're an outdoor lover, you are only steps away from Kay Gardner Beltline Park and Nicol MacNicol Parkette.
Without a car, you can get around quite easily. The closest transit stop is a BusStop (BATHURST ST AT ELM RIDGE DR) and is a short distance away, but there is also a Subway stop, EGLINTON WEST STATION - NORTHBOUND PLATFORM, a 7-minute walk connecting you to the TTC. It also has (Bus) route 307 Bathurst Night Bus, and (Bus) route 7 Bathurst nearby. If you need to get on the highway often, Allen Rd and Lawrence Ave W has both on and off ramps and is within a 4-minute drive.
