The Township of Wilmot is currently home to about 20 condos and 20, 000 people. Although the area is mostly rural, Wilmot’s history and culture is highly developed. The area of New Dundee in Wilmot is home to The New Dundee Emporium, a unique restaurant, tea room and boutique. Now a designated heritage building, it was originally built in 1887 for Queen Victoria’s 50th jubilee. An excellent example of Victorian architecture, it remains a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Another example of Victorian architecture is the Castle Kilbride, a mansion built for a local named James Livingston in 1877. Today it remains a great spot for hosting community events and historical tours.

Wilmot’s rural heritage is celebrated through a revival of farms displaying their creativity. This behaviour is exemplary at the Mountain Oak Dairy Farm where you can find traditional and new cheese flavours from celery to wild nettle, all made in your community, your backyard.

Community events abound with a fun annual Santa Clause Parade and an extravagant annual Canada Day celebration which includes games, sports, rubber duck races, a cruise night for classic cars, a beer tent and epic firework displays allowing there to be something for the whole family.

For groceries or a pharmacy you'll likely need to hop into your car as there is not much nearby.
