Since the completion of the new St. Clair streetcar line, the avenue has become a bustling centre of commercial activity, drawing residents from the surrounding neighbourhoods, young professionals from Yonge and St Clair, as well as new Toronto condos.

Founded as an artist’s colony in what was once a largely rural part of the city, Wychwood maintains the creative community vibes with the central Wychwood Barns Park. Home to the Artscape Wychwood multi-purpose community space and artist live/work space, the park also hosts a weekly Farmers’ Market with live music and crafts booths. It’s a welcoming atmosphere with a bit of a bohemian twist, appealing largely to the “local and organic” food and business crowd. If you’re looking for more basic commercial outlets, a quick trip up to St. Clair offers a variety of shopping and dining options.

With easy bus routes along Christie and Bathurst, as well as the St. Clair subway station, residents of Cedarvale-Humewood condos are never too far away from Toronto’s downtown.

Some good places to grab a bite are Kibo House Sushi & Cafe, South St Burger or Mezzetta Restaurant & Tapas Branch. Venture a little further for a meal at one of the neighbourhood's restaurants. If you love coffee, you're not too far from Zaza Expresso Bar located at 775 St Clair Ave W. For grabbing your groceries, The Green Barn is a 3-minute walk.

If you are reliant on transit, don't fear, there is a Bus Stop (Christie St at Tyrrel Ave) a short walk. It also has route Christie nearby. If you need to get on the highway often, Allen Rd and Lawrence Ave W has both on and off ramps and is within a 9-minute drive.
