One of the most beautiful locations in the city, North Riverdale is mainly residential with many beautiful century homes, some great parks, and a small handful of Toronto condos. You can be forgiven for forgetting you are still in the city as you wander the tree-lined streets, but the amazing view of downtown from the top of Broadview Ave will blow you away and give you a gentle reminder.
Riverdale Park East takes up a large portion of the neighbourhood and has tennis courts and a community swimming pool in the summer that give way to an ice rink and great tobogganing in winter. There are a running track and baseball diamond as well as Movies in The Park in July and August. Bordering along East Chinatown, this is a great place to go for Dum Sum and do some shopping. One of our favourite restaurants, 7 Numbers, is located In North Riverdale at Bowden and The Danforth. Check it out and tell them we sent you! Bordering on The Danforth, you have all the shopping and dining you can handle, but for some of the best brunch in the city, head over to Leslieville and then spend the afternoon chilling out in The Beaches.
The 504 and 505 streetcars cut a path up Broadview and connect with the Bloor-Danforth subway and you can catch the 506 at Gerrard St. There is also the Pape bus, which runs south to Cherry St and back. Driving? You have easy access to the DVP, Lake Shore Blvd and Eastern Ave all ready to take you anywhere.
There are a lot of great restaurants. If you can't start your day without caffeine fear not, your nearby choices include Rooster Coffee House. Nearby grocery options: Ottway Herbs & Vitamins is a 6-minute walk.
If you are reliant on transit, don't fear, there is a Bus Stop (Broadview Ave at Millbrook Cres) not far. It also has route King, route King, and more nearby.
