Like many neighbourhoods in Scarborough, Milliken was developed on former farmland and is now a suburban community with strong, resident-driven initiatives and ample recreational parkland. Most of the Toronto condos for sale and for rent in Milliken are nestled around McCowan Road nearby Milliken District Park.

The residential vibe of the area took off in the 1980s with an influx of two-level houses, most of which are owner-occupied. The streets showcase green lawns and a lot of trees. As a residential area, Milliken is designed for car drivers to get around using main roads, with easy access to Highway 404 and 401 via Sheppard Avenue. There are also local bus routes throughout the area, as well as the Milliken GO Train Station for commuters heading to Union Station in Downtown Toronto.

Getting around the area is made simple. There is McCowan Rd at Walkway to Alanbull Sq Bus Stop, nearby, with route Mccowan North, and route Kingston Rd-mccowan Night Bus nearby. If you need to get on the highway often, Hwy 401 and Mccowan Rd has both on and off ramps and is within a 9-minute drive.
