The tight-knit and active community of Henry Farm offers residents a comfortable family-friendly atmosphere in Toronto's North York area, close to the commuter routes of Highway 401 and the Don Valley Parkway. Developed as a suburban neighbourhood in the 1960s, today the area is home to many modern Toronto condos, including the Emerald City group.
First and foremost, Henry Farm is a small, resident focused community. Shaughnessy Public School is often the meeting place for community events such as the annual “neighbours night out” BBQ. But you will also find internationally recognized institutions such as Lambton College Toronto, plus major commercial venues like Fairview Shopping Centre. With Parkway Forest Park and Havenbrook Park in the area, not to mention the walking trails along the Don River, this neighbourhood has a lot of options for outdoor recreation and an active, healthy lifestyle.
Residents of Henry Farm can take the Sheppard bus to Sheppard Station on the Yonge-University line, or the Don Mills bus down to the Bloor-Danforth line. Otherwise, getting around is done best by car, accessing the Don Valley Parkway and Highway 401 off Sheppard Avenue.
Some good places to grab a bite are Iqbal Kebab Sweet Centre, Subway or Flights Worlds. Venture a little further for a meal at one of the neighbourhood's restaurants. If you love coffee, you're not too far from Yorkland Coffee located at 102-200 Yorkland Blvd. Nearby grocery options: Foodland is a 3-minute walk.
If you are looking for transit, don't fear, there is a Bus Stop (Don Mills Rd at Helen Lu Rd) a 3-minute walk. For drivers, the closest highway is Hwy 404 and is only a 2-minute drive, making it easier to get into and out of the city getting on and off at Sheppard Ave E.
