Fort York is where the birth of Toronto (formerly York) happened in 1793. Designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1923, The Fort is open year round for tours and in the summer months there are a number of activities open to the public. Toronto condo developers have, in recent years started paying attention to the former industrial lands in this downtown neighbourhood bringing with them exciting architecture and improvements like restaurants, cafes and stores that previously hadn’t been available. There are a number of new condos planned for completion over the next few years and they will no doubt bring more exciting things with them.
