Alexandra Park is named for the park at the corner of Dundas St and Bathurst St, which in turn was named after Queen Alexandra wife of King Edward VII. Situated on the western edge of downtown the recorded history of the neighbourhood dates back to 1791. There is a huge revitalization project planned for the next few years, similar to what has been done over in Regent Park. Older community housing projects will be coming down and will be replaced with mixed-use buildings, townhomes and Toronto condos .
