Situated to the west of North Vancouver City, Lions Gate is an established residential neighbourhood that borders the Capilano River as well as the TransCanada Highway. There are growing numbers of Vancouver condos for sale in Lions Gate, most of which tend to be mid-rise buildings that blend into the natural landscape of the area.
The center of Lions Gate is undergoing a large-scale community transformation to become the Lions Gate Village, a pedestrian-oriented space that will will act as the entry-point into the neighbourhood. As the first area that visitors reach when they cross the Lions Gate Bridge from mainland Vancouver, this new community plan aims to boost local-businesses, community recreation, as well as offer many new housing options. As with most neighbourhoods in North Vancouver District, Lions Gate enjoys a nature-filled atmosphere with several public parks surrounding the residential and commercial core that will make it easy to keep up an active lifestyle.
The Lions Gate Bridge on Highway 99 is the main connection to Downtown Vancouver, while the SeaBus ferry service at the Lonsdale Quay offers a pedestrian-only alternative to get across the harbour.
There are quite a few restaurants to choose from. Some good places to grab a bite are Tomahawk Barbeque and La Taqueria. Venture a little further for a meal at Lion Hot Pot, Workshop Vegetarian Cafe or Kypriaki Mediterranean Grill. Without a car, you can get around quite easily. The closest transit stop is a BusStop (Eastbound Marine Dr @ Philip Ave) and is a 3-minute walk, but there is also a Subway stop, Waterfront Station Platform 1, a 4-minute drive connecting you to the TransLink. It also has (Bus) route 239 Capilano University/park Royal, (Bus) route 240 15th Street/vancouver, and more nearby.
