More than the home of those curvy Marilyn Monroe Towers and Toronto’s little sister, Mississauga is quickly making a name for it’s self as an arts hub, finance capital and multicultural destination. Home to almost a million people, Mississauga was founded in 1805 as a suburb of Toronto although didn’t officially get it’s name and become its own city until 1968.
Now known as Canada’s 6th largest city, the condo boom that has elevated Toronto has started to create buzz in Mississauga as well. Currently there are over one hundred condos for sale in Mississauga and that number is growing by leaps and bounds. There are a number of Fortune 500 companies, primarily in the banking, finance and electronics areas that are forgoing Toronto for Mississauga and bringing with them a younger demographic and creating a dynamic central city.
Neighbourhoods such as City Centre have seen huge growth over the past few years, now home to 30 condos as well as the Art Gallery of Mississauga, the famous Square One Shopping Mall and Celebration Square, where the past few Canada Day celebrations have drawn crowds of over 100,000 people. Port Credit is another neighbourhood on the rise, previously a city on it’s own was drawn into Mississauga in the mid 1970’s and has seen great grown and development ever since. A beautiful summer destination at the mouth of the Credit River, there are many parks and walking trails along the lakeshore and some new luxury condos that have million dollar views.
The Values and Trends for Mississauga condos have steadily risen over the past few years and look to stay on the same path. Toronto condo developers and turned their eyes west and have some fantastic new developments on the way. Mississauga is starting to come of age and is definitely a place to watch.
Some good places to grab a bite are Live Cuisine Restaurant-Living Arts Center, A&W Canada or Booster Juice. Venture a little further for a meal at one of the neighbourhood's restaurants.
