Originally the two towns of Clarke and Darlington, Clarington was established in 1973 in the eastern end of the GTA in Durham Region. It’s mostly a rural community with its largest urban center located in Bowmanville. There are about 90,000 people who call Clarington home.

The towns host annual Santa Claus Parades, and draw many visitors for the area’s natural tracts and landscapes.
With the planned expansion of the Go Transit light rail service into Bowmanville, Clarington will be much more connected, with convenient access to Toronto. And as a growing township that offers that charming sense of small-town rural, it’s certainly a place to watch
