5 things renters need to know
What do you have to do to find a great rental these days? Nice places are getting snapped up in hours, bidding wars are happening…it’s a jungle out there. We’ve got 5 tips for landing a rental – check ‘em out and get renting!
1. Do some research. Look at current and recently rented listings to figure out what places in the location and property type you want are going for right now.
2. Know your exact dates. Knowing your move-in timelines is good, but it also helps if you’re flexible.
3. Have all your docs in a row. Get your credit report, letter of employment and references ready. When you see a place you like, that means you can make an offer on it right away.

4. Be ready to move quickly. The market moves fast, and if you want to land a place you love, you’ll have to make some quick decisions. You won’t have a couple of days to “think things over” or get your credit report. Because while you’re doing that, someone who IS ready will come in with an offer, and you’ll lose out.
5. Work with an agent. As a renter, using an is completely free – it’s the landlord that pays the fees for their services. So why not take advantage of a great resource? They’ll do all the legwork for you, set up viewings, present you professionally to landlords, and put clauses in place to protect your interests.
