Known commonly as “Kits”, this West Side neighbourhood has a long history of being Vancouver’s hippy hangout, and while the hippies have traded in their tie-dye shirts for yoga pants and laptops, the relaxed and welcoming vibe remains the same. Life is booming in Kitsilano, with the new projects like Kitswest, The Westerly, and Pinnacle Living on Broadway, which are all outstanding additions to the condo market in Vancouver.
Kitsilano sits on the south shore of English Bay, nearby Granville Island and not far from Downtown. If you are in a cultural mood, you can check out the Vancouver Maritime Museum, Museum of Vancouver, and H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. Visit Vancouver’s oldest vegetarian restaurant from the 1960s The Naam, shop in the largest Lululemon store, play some volleyball on the Kitsilano Beach, or participate in any of the festivals offered by the community like Bard on The Beach, the annual car-free day, or a free outdoor movie in Stanley Park.
You cannot ask for a better location than Kitsilano. Located right across from Downtown, it is really easy to get around the city. Numerous bus routes as well as water taxis can get you anywhere in Vancouver quickly.
