The Distillery District located on the eastern boundary of Downtown is the former home of the massive Gooderham and Worts Distillery. Now a National Historic Site, the Victorian industrial buildings have been converted into a mix of art galleries, cafés, restaurants, and boutiques. There are 6 Toronto condos in the Distillery, such as Pure Spirit which have helped to revitalize one of the city’s true gems. There is so much history lurking around every corner this is certainly a place to visit over and over.
Recent condo developments in the Distillery are popular for proximity to the St. Lawrence Market, King St East and Leslieville. The Development of the West Don Lands to the northeast is making a huge impact to the neighbourhood as transit gets extended and new parks and walking trails have been added. It’s just a quick stroll up Cherry St to get to Corktown Common and loads of walking trails along the Don River. People come from all over to wander through the cobblestone streets, dine in some great restaurants and there is even a brewery on Mills St, which is keeping the old traditions alive. The 2-week Christmas Market, which has become a yearly tradition, is a definite highlight of the year.
Living in a Distillery District condo has never been easier, with its fantastic location right at King and Parliament transit options are many, with bus stops right outside the door and the 504 Streetcar only a block away. New Developments are bringing streetcars right down to the district as well. A quick drive up Eastern Ave and you are on the DVP and the Gardiner is right there too. If you feel like getting some fresh air, the downtown core is only a 10-minute walk away.
