With the Don Valley to the east and Lake Ontario to the south, South Riverdale-Leslieville residents enjoy a pleasant mix of natural settings, quiet residential streets, and a lively selection of chic shops and restaurants on Queen Street. The Riverside neighbourhood, situated around Queen and Broadview, has become sought-after among Toronto condos, with some of the coolest new builds and one of the best authentic loft conversions in the city, Broadview Lofts. Leslieville has taken off in recent years, now being known as a food destination, great for shopping and antiquing, and the multitude of condos cropping up all over.
Located just over the Don Valley River from the Distillery District, Riverside and Leslieville have lots to offer. There are some great coffee shops along Queen at Broadview, and who can miss Dangerous Dan’s Diner. Queen St really is the heart of this neighbourhood; most of the shops and restaurants line this famous street. Whether you’re after brunch, a quick snack, or a four-star dinner, Leslieville is now rivalling the West End as the top food destination in the city. The weekly Farmer’s Market is one of the best in the city and runs every Sunday from May until October. There is lots of green space dotted around and if you head up Carlaw to North Riverdale, Withrow Park is a huge attraction both in winter and summer.
