Recent developments have really changed this area, transforming the former industrial lands into inspired residential spaces with a lot of conversions to Toronto lofts as well as some stunning Toronto condos. The changing scenery brings with it a fresh array of restaurants, cafes and shops, making Dovercourt-Wallace Emerson-Junction a ‘hip’ and exciting place to be.

Situated in the Junction Triangle, Wallace Emerson, Dovercourt and Bloordale (just to name a few of the sub-neighbourhoods) sit comfortably within a kind of web of similar yet unique areas such as High Park and Roncesvalles. You can spend the morning wandering through the eclectic shops, linger over a cappuccino, then end the day hanging out with your friends outside at either Christie Pitts Park or Toronto’s largest green space High Park. Home to a ton of youthful bars and cafes that cater largely to the laptop and craft beer generation, it’s also an up-and-coming arts and design scene with video game developer Ubisoft in the area.

Condo living in the West End is made so much easier by the amount of public transit available. The Bloor subway line runs straight across the whole neighbourhood with four stops from Lansdowne to Christie. There are busses heading north and south on Dufferin and Ossington, plus the new UP Express train to Pearson International Aiport and Union Station is located in the neighbourhood near Dundas West. For today’s urban dweller, this is an area to keep an eye on.

There are quite a few restaurants to choose from. Some good places to grab a bite are Stop BBQ Chicken and McDonald's. Venture a little further for a meal at North Of Brooklyn, Parallel or Porta Nova Restaurant. If you love coffee, you're not too far from Whack Ass Coffee located at 800 Lansdowne Ave. For groceries there is Olympia Supermarket which is only steps away. Entertainment options nearby include The Greater Good Bar and Hawaii Bar. If you're an outdoor lover, you are a 5-minute walk from Dovercourt Park, MacGregor Park and Dufferin Grove Park.

Without a car, you can get around rather easily. The closest transit stop is a BusStop (DUFFERIN ST AT LAPPIN AVE SOUTH SIDE) and is only steps away, but there is also a Subway stop, DUFFERIN STATION - WESTBOUND PLATFORM, only a 6 minute walk connecting you to the TTC. It also has (Bus) route 29 Dufferin, and (Bus) route 329 Dufferin Night Bus nearby. If you need to get on the highway often, Gardiner Expressway and Dowling Ave has both on and off ramps and is within a few minutes drive.
