Recent developments have really changed this area, transforming the former industrial lands into inspired residential spaces with a lot of conversions to Toronto lofts as well as some stunning Toronto condos. The changing scenery brings with it a fresh array of restaurants, cafes and shops, making Dovercourt-Wallace Emerson-Junction a ‘hip’ and exciting place to be.

Situated in the Junction Triangle, Wallace Emerson, Dovercourt and Bloordale (just to name a few of the sub-neighbourhoods) sit comfortably within a kind of web of similar yet unique areas such as High Park and Roncesvalles. You can spend the morning wandering through the eclectic shops, linger over a cappuccino, then end the day hanging out with your friends outside at either Christie Pitts Park or Toronto’s largest green space High Park. Home to a ton of youthful bars and cafes that cater largely to the laptop and craft beer generation, it’s also an up-and-coming arts and design scene with video game developer Ubisoft in the area.

Condo living in the West End is made so much easier by the amount of public transit available. The Bloor subway line runs straight across the whole neighbourhood with four stops from Lansdowne to Christie. There are busses heading north and south on Dufferin and Ossington, plus the new UP Express train to Pearson International Aiport and Union Station is located in the neighbourhood near Dundas West. For today’s urban dweller, this is an area to keep an eye on.

Some good places to grab a bite are Stop BBQ Chicken Stuff, McDonald's or The Greater Good. Venture a little further for a meal at one of the neighbourhood's restaurants. If you love coffee, you're not too far from Wallace Espresso located at 188 Wallace Ave. For grabbing your groceries, FreshCo is only a 3 minute walk.

Getting around the area is made simple. There is Dufferin St at Lappin Ave South Side Bus Stop, only steps away, with route Dufferin, and route Dufferin Night Bus nearby. Access to Gardiner Expressway is within a few minutes drive away, making it easy for those driving to get into and out of the city getting on and off at Dowling Ave.
