Agent Spotlight: Meet Arvin Reyes Tamboowalla agent Arvin Reyes Tamboowalla wrapped up more real estate transactions than any other sales rep in our brokerage. Which is saying a lot when you look at our busy team of agents. But Arvin loves the hustle of the job – solving problems, meeting people, and tapping into the electric energy of the GTA real estate market every day. Whether he’s helping his clients buy, sell, invest or rent, he’s got his finger on the pulse of the market, and prides himself on going above and beyond to ensure people make moves they’re happy about. 

We sat down and talked to him about what it’s like being one of the busiest agents on the block. 

Why did you become an agent? 

I love having the chance to meet people from different walks of life, understanding the roadblocks they may face – and helping them make their vision of the future a reality. Hearing about personal life journeys is fascinating to me: I’m deeply curious about people, human psychology, and social dynamics. It helps me understand their motivations, where they want to go and what they want to achieve.

What makes you a good agent? 

I work hard for my clients – no exceptions. I’m young, energetic and always a straight shooter. In my first five years in real estate, I averaged 100-150 transactions a year, setting company records for transaction volume. That’s given me a lot of knowledge: I have clients in almost every condo building in Toronto, so I can definitely say I know Toronto buildings and neighbourhoods inside and out.

I’m also a strong negotiator with great strategies for going to bat for my clients in every situation. Honestly, I’ve been through pretty much every sales scenario imaginable, so I’m good at getting properties sold fast – and getting clients into homes they love. 

What do you love most about what you do? 

The competition. I’ve been an athlete since I was young, so I’ve got a healthy competitive spirit and I love winning! Negotiating deals and favourable terms for my clients really sparks a light in me. Seriously, there is no better feeling than achieving a win for my clients. 

What do you do for fun?

I’m an adventurous guy – I love traveling and exploring new places and checking out new sights, tastes and experiences like seeing dolphins in the wild, skydiving, surfing, skateboarding, or cliff diving. I’m also a regular at the gym and love a good run along the waterfront. 

What's something someone might be surprised to find out about you? 

I practice mindfulness, and love journeying inward to learn more about myself. And I regularly “shift my state” with regular ice baths at Othership, which helps me build tenacity and resilience, regulates my emotions, and enhances my focus. 

 Got any good client stories? 

Absolutely. One story comes to mind – a young couple looking for a condo in King West. Their rental had been sold, and they only had a 30-45 day closing window. And of course, it was the height of the market, so we were losing property after property to bidding wars – they were going for prices WAY above anyone’s expectations. 

It finally came down to a place that had one other offer. I kept in touch with the sellers’ agent, connecting with her, telling her my clients’ story, putting a human face on the transaction. She gave me good feedback on the quality of my clients’ offer, which we improved…but the other offer was still higher. But I didn’t give up. We made one more bid at the last minute, and I told the agent I was on my way to the listing brokerage with the cheque in hand. The brokerage was due to close in 20 minutes – and I was 18 minutes away. 

Despite elevator problems and terrible traffic, I got there with seconds to spare – and then I saw the fire truck outside the building! I ran up the stairs, overtaking firefighters, and got to the brokerage just as they were shutting their doors. They let me in and the deal was done – my clients got an amazing King West condo, on time and within their budget.  Above and beyond service for the win!
