The heart of King West is often thought to be around King and Spadina, where the Fashion and Entertainment districts meet. Long a favourite of Toronto condo developers, there are currently 42 condos within a few blocks of this dynamic area, one of the most popular in the city. This really is the middle of the action with 24-hour restaurants and transit, food from all over the world and live music any night of the week.
There is a lot to be found around this downtown intersection, known as the Entertainment District for a reason. The TIFF Bell Lightbox, home of the Toronto International Film Festival, is a great place to go for dinner and a movie, you’ll find some of the top restaurants in the city and the nightlife is second to none, there really is something for everybody. You’ll find great shopping in the Fashion District; lots of small boutiques showcasing local designers and interesting one offs that you wont find anywhere else. There is a surprising amount of green space here, with numerous dog parks and easy access to The Waterfront trails as well.
For those thinking of a condo at King and Spadina, walking may be the best way to get around, with a walk score close to 100, there is nothing you can’t get to. Transit is everywhere, three streetcar lines, the 501 and 504 travelling east and west as well as the 510 running north and south, cover a huge part of the city and connect to the subway stations and GO Train stations. At the foot of Spadina, is one of the major on/ off ramps to the Gardiner Expressway, connecting to the rest of the city.
